Waking up to eat Sahur is not a chore, and is not meant to be a burden on us. It is a mercy from Allah S.W.T that we are able to eat one last meal before starting our fast for the day. Eating Sahur does not only provide us with spiritual benefits, but physical and mental as well.
Waking up 5 or 10 minutes before Fajr is probably not the best idea. Try to wake up between 30-60 minutes before the azan for Fajr prayer goes off. This gives you a chance to wake yourself up to be able to actually enjoy the food you are eating.
To be able to wake up early and at the time that you plan to, it’s important to get enough sleep every night. During the holy month, our normal sleep schedule can be disrupted by gatherings and late-night worships. Try planning an adjusted sleep routine for Ramadhan so that you’re sleeping and waking at around the same time every day. This will help your body get into a rhythm for more restful sleep.
