Living with Global Developmental Delay and Chronic Lung Disease has undoubtedly presented Aleesya with numerous challenges throughout her life. Aleesya is also required to wear hearing aids on a daily basis. As part of our Care for the Disabled beneficiary, she and her family receive support from Global Ehsan Relief Singapore.
Her conditions may have slowed her physical and cognitive development, but they could never dampen her spirit or passion for creativity. Despite the hurdles she faces daily, Aleesya discovered solace and self-expression through art. Her journey as an artist began as a form of therapy, a way to communicate her emotions and thoughts when words were insufficient.
Recently, Aleesya’s artistic prowess was recognized on a bigger scale. Her artwork was chosen to be showcased at this year’s National Day Parade (NDP) tote bag design, a testament to her exceptional talent and resilience. It not only celebrates her artistic achievements but also serves as a symbol of her triumph over adversity.
Our team member Sri Shahadah had this to share: “We are intrigued by Aleesya's artistic talent and pleased to know that it was exclusively featured on the NDP tote bag this year. Her cheerful smile radiates through her drawings. It's a form of positive expression.”
More than just seeing the positive impact art has on Aleesya, the family also shared their heartfelt gratitude for the aid rendered to them by Global Ehsan Relief Singapore. It has helped to lessen the burden of buying expensive groceries. At the same time, our support has helped to boost Aleesya’s spirit.
